The Illawarra Women’s Trauma Recovery Centre (Women’s TRC) has released an Expression of Interest (EOI) seeking a dedicated legal practitioner for a 12-month secondment opportunity from a partner law firm.
This position is designed to support women recovering from domestic, family, and sexual violence through trauma-informed legal services integrated within a holistic care model and is available either part-time or full-time.
Applicants must demonstrate strong legal expertise, cultural competency, and a commitment to trauma-informed practice.
Services request direct legal support, collaborative case management, development of a legal literacy program, community legal education, and contributions to legal research and advocacy. The role covers a wide range of legal areas, including family law, financial abuse, housing, discrimination, and civil litigation related to historical sexual abuse.
Submissions close on 23 June 2025, with interviews scheduled from July 7-11. Successful candidates will work closely with the Women’s TRC’s multidisciplinary team, aiming to empower clients and strengthen systemic responses to gender-based violence. Firms with diverse legal expertise and a history of supporting violence recovery services are strongly encouraged to apply.
